About Us

Western Private Hospital (WPH), is a boutique private hospital located in Footscray servicing the West of Melbourne with the provision of acute services which has 62 inpatient beds.

We are fully equipped for a comprehensive range of surgical procedures including general, bariatric, oral max, colorectal, endoscopy, gastroenterology, ophthalmology, orthopaedic, gynaecology, plastics, vascular and urology, as well as diagnostic and interventional cardiology and high dependency services.

About the Role

We are seeking energetic Registered Nurses to join our busy and dynamic Day Procedure Unit, on a basis with availability to work varying shifts – AM & PM shifts Monday to Friday, with weekend Saturday shifts available every two weeks.

On shift, you will perform clinical duties with the support and guidance of the Nurse Unit Manager and Shift Leaders to ensure a high level of quality service is provided to our patients. This will directly involve the assessing, planning and delivery of care to those patients.

Selection Criteria

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse, Division 1
  • 3 years minimum in an acute care hospital environment and/or day surgery or theatre
  • Extensive prior experience in pre and post-operative care of patients undergoing surgery
  • Commitment to improvement and excellence in the delivery of patient care services
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to work collaboratively and respectfully in a small team, both interdependently & independently
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritise conflicting demands and manage time efficiently
  • Flexibility to work varying hours depending on the operational needs of the hospital
  • Exceptional communication skills to be able to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team inc. Surgeons, Anaesthetists, Nurses and Allied Support staff, to ensure best practice and quality patient outcomes
  • Commitment to improvement and excellence in the delivery of patient care services

  • Must provide aNational Police Check conducted within the previous 6 months, a Working With Children Check and evidence of Australian Residency / Full Working Rights
