You will be living and working in a vibrant town with a unique blend of natural wonders, cultural heritage, and modern amenities, making it a significant destination in the Northern Territory. It has schools, healthcare facilities, shopping centres, and various recreational opportunities. The town also serves as a hub for the surrounding rural area, including numerous cattle stations and Indigenous communities.
What You'll Be Doing
You will work in collaboration with Community Family Partnership Workers to offer supportive Home Visits and education to expectant Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander mothers and their families. Together, your aim is to build trusting relationships, ensure cultural sensitivity, and achieve positive program results.
Essential Requirements
- Current registration with AHPRA, with no restrictions
- National Crime Check or willingness to obtain
- Working with Children's Check or willingness to obtain
- At least 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in Maternal or Child Health
- Ability to demonstrate an understanding of nursing processes and clinical expertise
- Ability to build therapeutic relationships and maintain therapeutic boundaries
- Ability to utilise sound problem solving techniques and negotiation skills in accordance with motivational and interviewing and behavior change theory
