The Part-Time Practice Nurse is essential in providing comprehensive nursing care within the practice, focusing on areas like wound management, immunisation, and health screenings. Responsibilities include patient education, advocacy, maintaining records with Genie software, contributing to management plans, and adhering to health and safety standards. The role suits a Registered Nurse with a current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, preferably experienced in primary health care.Key Responsibilities:Professional Practice: Ensure compliance with legislation and regulations. Deliver evidence-based care adhering to clinical guidelines. Educate patients using health literacy principles. Follow organisational policies, nursing standards, and codes. Engage in ongoing professional development. Review and optimise care systems and procedures. Support and collaborate with the nursing team.Clinical Nursing Care: Administer vaccines and assist in immunisation clinics. Conduct preventive health screenings and INR procedures. Manage wound care and administer various injections, including iron infusions. Perform spirometry and ECG tests. Uphold values of respect, dignity, and cultural safety. Coordinate and plan patient care with medical staff. Share innovative practices in the healthcare team.General Practice Environment/Nursing Care Systems: Maintain patient documentation using Genie software. Implement and manage practice plans and team care arrangements. Adhere to workplace health and safety principles. Manage supplies and resources within budget constraints. Understand Cold Chain Breach Protocols.Collaborative Practice: Work autonomously and reflect practice values. Provide team support with effective communication skills.Qualifications & Experience:Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.Qualified in Immunisation, with knowledge of relevant medical procedures.Willingness to learn Genie software developed by Magentus.Satisfactory police check and a current driver's license.Experience in primary health care preferred.Vaccinated against MMR, Varicella, Pertussis, Hepatitis A & B, and Seasonal Influenza.Vaccinated against, or willing to be vaccinated against, COVID-19.Job Type: Permanent - Part Time hours (20-32 per week).After Hours Requirements: NoSalary Information:Competitive hourly rate on offerAbout Mackay:
