About us:
Located in Taree in the beautiful Manning Valley on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales, Manning Base Hospital is an acute hospital that provides a wide range of specialist services to the local government areas of Greater Taree, Great Lakes and Gloucester.

The Manning Valley is home to many natural attractions, including the Manning River, Coorabakh National Park, and Ellenborough Falls. Less than 4 hour’s drive from Sydney, and just 2 hours from Newcastle, getting to Taree is easier than ever with coach services and trains running regularly from Sydney and Newcastle, as well as direct flights from between Sydney and Taree operating twice a week.

About the job
As a successful candidate, you will be joining a dynamic multidisciplinary team in the busy Surgical Ward at Manning Base Hospital.

In your role, you will be providing care to patients in a fast-paced acute surgical unit. You will act as an advocate to assist patients and their families/carers in making informed decisions. You will provide appropriate supervision and/or mentoring for staff as required including the supervision of students on clinical placement. You will also make appropriate referrals to support the requirements of patients upon discharge. To be successful in this role, you will need to be eager to learn and expand your clinical skills and knowledge base. You will also be a highly motivated team player.

New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
