What you'll be doing
This position is based at The Albion Centre (Albion), located at Surry Hills and is a facility of the Sexual Health and Blood Borne Viruses (SHBBV) services within SESLHD. This position may collaborate with other SH BBV services when required.
The Registered Nurse at Albion is responsible for the coordination and delivery high quality nursing care to clients attending Albion services consistent with SESLHD policies, procedures and standards.
The nursing staff provide a diverse range of specialist services including HIV and sexual health assessment, screening and treatment, client and community education and health promotion, triage, telephone services, including information and results provision and Trans / Gender diverse support and care.
Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified for this position following suitable labour market testing.
All workers and new recruits are required to receive 2 doses of a Therapeutic Goods Administration approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine to commence employment/ engagement or continue to work within a NSW Health service.
A worker and new recruit will be considered compliant if they have a medical contraindication to all available Therapeutic Goods Administration approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccines and provide medical contraindication evidence in line with the policy requirements.
In addition, all Category A workers and new recruits are required to receive one dose of the seasonal influenza vaccine annually to be considered compliant.
Category A workers and new recruits who are non-compliant with seasonal influenza vaccination or have a medical contraindication to influenza or COVID-19 vaccinations must comply with all other infection control risk reduction strategies as directed while working in a Category A position.

Support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia.
- Demonstrated recent clinical experience working in a HIV and sexual health services or demonstrated interest in working in the HIV and sexual health sectors.
- Demonstrated ability to work within a fast paced environment whilst ensuring safe, effective and high quality care.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the issues and needs of priority populations attending a sexual health service.
- Computer skills and proven ability to use health information systems E.g. Electronic Medical Records (eMR) system, client booking systems and online results management.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and apply professional and ethical boundaries when dealing with complex situations.
- Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills and the ability to identify key messages, issues and concerns when communicating with others.
