First Assistance provides Emergency Assistance to international travelers, expatriate workforces worldwide and inbound visitors to Australia and New Zealand.
About the role:
Due to the uplift in travel, we are in full growth mode and are looking to expand the current size of our team!
We’re looking for experienced Registered Nurses who want a change from the usual hospital environment, to come and join our collaborative team in the Melbourne CBD.
This role provides dedicated shift hours and a 4 day on, 4 day off roster - great for the perfect work/life balance!
You will be responding to our clients in difficult situations located in multiple locations around the world and will be the calm and reassuring voice that provides them a lifeline. If you are the type of person who delights in going the extra mile to solve problems for your patients, then we want you as part of our team.
You will:
- Provide medical support to clients with a wide range of medical problems who may be anywhere around the world - often in places with limited or no medical facilities
- With the support of our team of doctors and case managers, solve their problems with primary health care advice, direction to medical care, or co-ordination of evacuation
- Communicate regularly with travelers, providers, and clients
- Show genuine compassion and care for travelers in need
Requirements:
You need to have a minimum of 4 years post graduate nursing experience with acute care nursing in ICU or Emergency Medicine. Previous telemedicine experience is not required; we will teach you all you need to know!
You will also need to be able to demonstrate the following:
- A current general nursing registration
- Travel experience: With 195 countries in the world, personal knowledge of some of them is an asset
- Be a positive team player with good collaboration skills
- Possess self-motivation, confidence, and the ability to work well under pressure
- Professional communication and problem-solving skills
