MHDA Statement of Intention
The intention of the NSLHD MHDA is to provide recovery-oriented, trauma informed services that are guided by evidence-based practices and collaboration.
Lower North Shore Older People’s Mental Health Service (OPMHS) is a specialised clinical service.
You will be working with a supportive multi-disciplinary team, providing assessments, care planning and treatments for older consumers presenting with a mental illness.
The team provides a recovery oriented service which is client-centred and collaborative, family inclusive and trauma-informed. We liaise closely with General Practitioners and other service providers to assist consumers to develop sustainable support networks and promote positive mental Health outcomes.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Current Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APRHA) registration as a Registered Nurse.
- Demonstrated skills in conducting comprehensive Mental Health assessment and management, including assessment, risk management and care coordination.
- Demonstrated understanding of the Recovery Model of care within Mental Health and the ability to implement and evaluate these care
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
