Parklands Residential Aged Care Facility, is a Queensland Health managed Aged Care service within the Townsville Hospital and Health Service and is in Townsville at the Kirwan Campus. The facility provides care for 70 residents with 30 places for dementia care and 40 places for older persons who require care due to fragility and complex care needs.

About your opportunity:
Permanent part-time / 40 hours per fortnight / Location: Townsville
Parklands provides a multidisciplinary approach to care delivery with a focus on resident's rights and choices. Residents (as able), relatives, carers and other health professionals are involved in the individual care planning process and encouraged to play an active role in the decision-making process. With the introduction of the Aged Care nursing ratios, all nursing staff will work together to provide resident focused quality nursing care that meets the Aged Care quality standards and will assist in the provision of leisure and recreational activities and interactions.
The Registered Nurse (RN) utilises clinical skills and knowledge whilst working in partnership with other members of the nursing team and students to provide resident focused care and assisting in the achievement of service goals. The RN will be committed to relevant and continued professional education, actively be involved with the development of others and be involved in the unit portfolios. The RN provides care in accordance with the Practice Standards as identified by the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Board.
Generous remuneration package value up to $62,066 p.a. comprising:
- Salary range of $40.51 to $51.97 p.h. (Nurse Grade 5)
- Annual leave with relevant loading
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.
Requirements:
- Proof of qualification, registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.
- Highly desirable: Experience in Aged Care.
- National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Worker Screening Check: As a Health Care worker in Queensland Health who engages in risk-assessed roles, you must hold a current disability check (Yellow Card or Yellow Card Exemption) or a NDIS worker screening check, in accordance with Part 5 of the Disability Services Act 2006 (Qld).
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
- Possession of class C drivers' licence.
- Shift Workers: Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster, which will include participation in an on-call roster.
- Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
