The Role
An opportunity has become available for several Registered Nurses (Perioperative) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Practice to full scope of practice as per the defined practice standards for Registered Nurses set out by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
- Effectively manage self and work with the Nurse Unit Manager and Clinical Nurses to meet professional development
- Coordinate clinical care in the work unit (including performing the role of shift coordinator as required), utilising well developed contemporary clinical and problem solving skills
- Role model a people focused approach to evidence-based care and support and maintain a unit culture reflective of the principals of Transforming Care
- Provide relevant, contemporary information and education to patients/clients and families/caregivers to promote independence and control over their health
To be successful in this position you will require:
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
- Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Pertussis (Whooping Cough) and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

- Base salary ranging from $3079.50 - $3950 per fortnight
- Base salary ranging from $40.51 - $51.97 per hour
Varsity Lakes is a standalone facility that has 3 theatres and 3 endoscopy rooms. It has admission rooms, a 12 bed first stage recovery and second stage recovery to accommodate the accompanying lists
