SalaryWe are seeking a capable, energetic and experienced Registered Nurse to join our fast paced Oral, Maxillofacial and Cosmetic surgical practice in Penrith.
The role is 3 days a week, but an additional day per fortnight is available if suitable. There is no weekend or public holiday work.
The position is remunerated based on experience.
The ideal candidate for this position will be confident in their nursing abilities, have scrub/scout or theatre experience, able to problem solve and develop systems to improve clinic outcomes and patient care, competent with computers, enjoy working in a fast paced environment and willing to learn and develop new skills to pitch in where necessary.

The key aspects of the role include:
- Assist in surgical procedures - maxillofacial and cosmetic
- Assist in sterilisation of instruments
- Review, update and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient and accessible care, and maintain legal requirements
- Suture removal, dressings and post operative wound care
- Liaising with doctors, staff, patients and hospitals for pre and post operative care
- Managing/ordering clinical stock
- Willing to travel to the hospital (20 minutes from the clinic) to assist Dr McHugh
- Willing and able to assist with administration tasks and patient coordination and liaising as needed
- Comfortable with being present and collaborative during cosmetic consults and assisting with documentation
Selection Criteria:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse with a minimum of 4 years work experience as a Registered Nurse
- Current Australian working rights
- Demonstrated previous experience in the perioperative environment and Clinical Administration experience.
- Demonstrated application of evidence-based practice and critical thinking to patient care.
- Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and personally resolve conflicts when they arise.
