Monash Newborn - Sandringham, situated in Sandringham Hospital, is a 7-bed Special Care Nursery, with a reputation for delivering outstanding family-centred care to mildly to moderately unwell infants and their families.
A Day in the Life
Our team loves coming to work every day to be able to provide safe and excellent family-centred care. You’ll enjoy the variety and challenge that comes from working with like-minded skilled senior staff and mentors while being supported by your manager and other leaders within the program and broader health service. Our 7-cot SCN provides specialised care to babies onwards of 34 weeks gestation, and supports our delivery suites, postnatal ward and surrounding tertiary centre - Monash Children's Hospital.
We work within a team model of care - and in practising within this model, we provide our patients and their families, consistency in their care provision and clear communication across their journey.
We are now looking to engage highly motivated nursing/midwifery professionals to join our team. Working in our modern, well-equipped unit, you will deliver excellent family-centred care.
We have ongoing, full and part-time opportunities to gain leadership experience across a 24/7 rotational roster, also with an opportunity for permanent night duty. Ours is a highly connected team with strong shared values and a commitment to excellence.

You are passionate about Neonatal Nursing, in particular Special Care Nursery and demonstrate the following:
- You have a commitment to ongoing education and wish to progress your career
- You are passionate in working towards our vision: By 2023, Monash Women's and Monash Newborn will be Australia's leader in women, newborn and family-centred care achieved through excellence in innovation, teaching, and research
- Registered Nurse experience in an acute Setting, ideally SCN
- Excellent interpersonal skills and superior time management skills
- Evidence of a commitment to professional development and care of the critically ill child.
- Thrive using your proven critical thinking & problem solving skills
- You are registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Authority (AHRPA)
- You can demonstrate recent acute nursing experience within Australia;
- You are willing to work full or part time across a seven day rotating roster including night shifts
- Permanent, ongoing contracts for those with neonatal qualification
- Support in the workplace and the ability to consolidate your learnings through ongoing clinical practice

Selection Criteria You are willing to work a seven day rotating roster including night shifts
You have demonstrated recent Special Care Nursery and/or Neonatal Intensive Care nursing experience either within Monash Newborn or within Australia
Recent nursing experience in an acute setting
