Surgical Services Transition to Speciality Practice Nursing Program John Hunter Hospital
About the program Applications are sought from Registered Nurses with a minimum of 12 months experience to join the 2023 Surgical Services Transition to Specialty Practice Nursing Program. The John Hunter Hospital's Surgical Services Transition to Specialty Practice Nursing Program aims to facilitate a smooth transition and structured pathway into surgical nursing. You will have an opportunity to gain surgical nursing experience throughout the adult acute specialty surgical wards at John Hunter Hospital. This is a supported program providing scheduled study days and professional development opportunities to inform and enhance your clinical knowledge and practice. Upon completion of this program you will be a valued member of our team with contemporary surgical nursing skills and knowledge enabling you to provide safe and effective nursing care to patients within Surgical Services. This program will commence in February 2023 and offers Temporary Part Time (0.84) positions for 12 months. Café Style interviews will be conducted in September 2022 at John Hunter Hospital

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. Please provide proof of booster vaccination if available.
To be eligible for employment in these roles you must be: an Australian Citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport, or a citizen of another country with an appropriate visa that allows you to work in Australia.
If you currently hold a temporary visa that allows you to live and work in Australia you may only be offered employment in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa.
