Cessnock District HospitalAbout the role:Our sought-after candidates will be an integral part of our 16-bed Surgical Unit, with opportunities to also contribute to our surge bed unit. Working closely alongside nursing, medical, and allied health teams, they will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care. Our patients typically have short stays of 1-2 nights, and the role will involve handling diverse cases including urology, gynaecology, dental procedures, general surgery, and endoscopies .As a Registered Nurse you will coordinate and deliver high quality person-centred nursing care in accordance with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia Standards for Practice for Registered Nurses, and the policies and procedures of the Ministry of Health (MOH) and Hunter New England Local Health District (HNELHD). In this role as a Registered Nurse, you will work with members of the multi-disciplinary team to provide optimal care for patients whilst in an Inpatient setting.Teamwork is paramount, and you will benefit from robust support structures, including mentorship from dedicated Clinical Nurse Educators (CNEs), a comprehensive orientation program tailored to your needs, and supervised supernumerary shifts to build your confidence and competence. With the potential for deployment to medical or Surgical Units, you'll have opportunities to broaden your experience and adapt to diverse care environments.

Join our team and work closely with the team nursing model, providing exceptional care to both subacute and acute medical patients transitioning from the Emergency Department and elective surgeries.You'll have the chance to contribute to the design and implementation of innovative care strategies in our new facility, which is set to be completed by approximately 2026.About you:
