Registered Nurse/Midwife | Mackay

Excellent opportunities exist for experienced Registered Midwives to join a dynamic and dedicated team of the Women's Unit at a private hospital in Mackay. Full-time and part-time positions are available.ABOUT THE ROLEAs a Registered Midwife, you will be responsible for the following:

• Providing high-quality patient care by applying nursing and midwifery clinical skills and contemporary knowledge to support optimal care outcomes through care coordination, collaboration, and communication within the scope of professional competence;
• Partnering with patients and their support persons throughout the pregnancy and birth continuum to provide woman-centered maternity care about personal or cultural needs and preferences;
• Undertaking comprehensive ante and postnatal assessments and developing or revising, care plans that are inclusive of the patient's physical, psychological, cultural, and spiritual needs and expectations for her pregnancy-childbirth continuum and expected clinical outcomes;
• Determining and monitoring maternal and fetal well-being throughout hospitalization and communicating effectively with other health professionals to ensure safe and high standards of care;
• Undertaking comprehensive discharge planning to ensure patients and their support persons, where applicable and appropriate, are provided with adequate support through the provision of education, resources, and proper community services access;
• Acknowledging and supporting the effectiveness of the multidisciplinary team and diverse care environment by delegating tasks to team members commensurate with their scope of professional expertise and practice.

REQUIREMENTS

• Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse and midwife;
• Currency of neonatal resuscitation;
• Currency of K2 Perinatal Training through an approved provider;
• Other postgraduate qualifications in relevant nursing and midwifery speciality or working towards (e.g. lactation consultant) are desired;
• Minimum of 1 year of postgraduate experience, including in birth suites;
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and clinical problem-solving skills;
• Demonstrated commitment to continued quality improvement and best practice principles.

REMUNERATION
$40.27 - $51.74 per hour plus superannuation (plus 25% casual loading if applicable) and access to generous salary packaging.ABOUT THE FACILITYThe hospital, located in Mackay, is a modern facility with 105 beds, five operating theatres, a fully equipped day surgery unit, and a range of specialist clinical services, including a 27-bed maternity unit providing specialized care for antenatal, postnatal, neonatal, gynecological, pediatric, surgical, and medical cases.APPLICATION PROCESS
