In Australia, we operate five steelmaking coal mines in Queensland's Bowen Basin, and have additional joint venture interests in steelmaking coal and manganese, as well as copper exploration projects underway in North West Queensland and Western Australia.Job DescriptionEstablished in 2016, our Grosvenor Mine is an underground steelmaking coal operation based in the township of Moranbah, QLD. Situated only fifteen minutes' drive from the Moranbah North Airport and with an expected life of mine until 2039, Grosvenor is here to stay for the long-term growth of your career. We offer modern facilities for camp accommodation with a short travel time of only five minutes from the mine site, Anglo American housing options and healthy meals!Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent, you will be an energetic mining professional looking for an amazing career progression opportunity at Grosvenor Mine. You will provide best practice survey services to the site, whilst ensuring statutory compliance and maintaining standard for the surveying aspects of the annual technical services plan.You will also produce timely and accurate weekly reports and plans of the mining operation, whilst providing advice on emerging or key surveying issues with a short-term focus and recommend approaches to systematically deal with them that are consistent with the Technical Services plan and strategies.This role will see you responsible for:

• Lead and supervise the surveying team onsite as the registered mine surveyor
• Provide survey set out, pickup, reconciliation and reporting services
• Engage and collaborate with technical services personnel and production crews
• Provision of design compliance plans on a weekly basis or as required
• Provide built surfaces using Maptek scanners, Leica GPS, and Drone surveys, weekly or as required
• Maintain the Coal Mine Workings Plan for annual submission

QualificationsTo be successful in this role you will have surveying experience, preferably in the mining industry, and a desire to continue to develop professionally. Your attributes will include:

• Tertiary qualifications in Surveying or Spatial Science
• Underground Coal (UC) endorsed Registered Mine Surveyor or willingness to obtain endorsement
• Mine Surveying experience within an Underground coal mining operation
• Previous exposure to Leica instrumentation, Trimble GPS, AutoCAD, and Compnet is desirable
• Ability to understand functionality of business systems and provide relevant data for business purposes
• An ability to manage and influence stakeholders
