Overview
The Royal Adelaide Hospital (RAH) is South Australia's largest accredited teaching hospital, and based within the Central Adelaide Local Health Network (CALHN). CALHN is committed to the achievement of best practice in the design and delivery of services to its patients. This involves the pursuit of quality improvement and innovation in every aspect of its operation.
The Adult Genetics Unit provides a state-wide outpatient service for adult general genetics, and across-age (adult, paediatric and adolescent) cancer genetics.
The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists within the Adult Genetic Unit to join us as Medical Practitioner. The position is for 6 months, full time in the Adult Genetics Unit only.
This successful applicant will contribute to the provision of safe, best practice, cost effective Clinical Genetics services to South Australian patients.
A broad range of applicants will be considered including
- Clinical Genetics trainees
- Applicants who have finished their specialist training seeking experience in Clinical Genetics
- Trainees in medical and surgical specialties seeking experience in Clinical Genetics
- Applicants who wish to work part-time
- Applicants wishing to do cancer genetics only

As per the SMOEA 2022, the total term of employment with SA Health will be 3 years. Rotations following the initial 6 or 12-month allocation as Registrar Clinical Genetics will be determined in line with your training and SA Health's requirements. This may include transfer to other SA Health locations to perform work appropriate to classification, skills and capabilities.
