Reliability Engineer - Echuca

A rare opportunity exists for the permanent full-time position of Reliability Engineer at our Echuca manufacturing facility. Simplot Echuca's core activity is the production of tomato paste in addition to manufacturing products under our Leggo’s, Edgell, Chicken Tonight, Raguletto and Harvest brands.  On an annual basis we process up to 15,000  tonnes of tomato paste and 8,000 tonnes of beetroot and have five unique packaging lines (glass jars, canning, plastic squeeze bottles, foil sachet and aseptic filling).

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this Monday to Friday role will drive the reliability strategy for the plant and undertake detailed analysis of site asset performance, reliability and maintenance costs to develop, implement and modify strategies and to make recommendations that will optimise plant OEE as well as production and maintenance effectiveness.

• Continuously develop and build on skills and knowledge of best practice reliability and operational excellence systems and techniques.
• Develop and report standard lead and lag reliability related KPIs.
• Continuous improvement and ongoing maintenance of the site's CMMS and maintenance documentation.
• Provide technical advice and support to key stakeholders (incl. statutory / regulatory requirements)
• Identify and manage asset reliability risks that could adversely affect the plant or business operations through loss elimination, risk management and life cycle asset management.
• Track and prioritise OEE losses, yield losses and abnormally high maintenance cost assets and recommend ways to reduce those losses or high costs.
• Facilitate team Root Cause Analysis (RCA) events, produce reports and ensure the completion of associated corrective actions, reliability improvements and CI activities.
• Analyse reliability data and make capital project recommendations that will improve plant reliability and safety.
• Manage risks to achievement of strategic objectives in the areas of OH&S, environmental, quality, production and maintenance repairs costs using specialised tools and techniques such as Criticality Analysis and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
• Support the development, implementation and ongoing improvement of the site’s Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) Strategy, which includes preventative, predictive and proactive maintenance activities, Standard Work Instructions, inventory management, lubrication, training and development plans.
• Participate in equipment design and development of installation and commissioning plans to ensure that plant and equipment is designed, installed and commissioned for reliability and ‘fit for purpose’.
• Assist with long term maintenance planning and strategic engineering related decision making.
• Work with Production team to perform analyses of assets including: asset utilisation, overall equipment effectiveness & remaining useful life.
• Expedite technical documentation of new plant and equipment from OEM to ensure Simplot records are kept up to date to sustain whole-life asset management and reliability

• Possess a 100% commitment to health, safety and wellbeing in the workplace
• A proven track record as a Reliability Engineer, ideally in a manufacturing or FMCG environment
• Ideally a degree qualified Engineer (Mechanical, Mechatronic or, Electrical) with further completed studies in reliability and/or asset management.
• Solid experience in the application of analytical techniques to optimise plant reliability and your knowledge and experience of Lean Manufacturing principles along with asset management and best practice reliability strategy implementation.
• High-level ability to collect, analyse and interpret data using advanced computer skills, including MS Excel and Power BI
• Results driven, can effectively manage and influence multiple stakeholders and enjoy the challenge of motivating teams and driving the delivery of key business projects.
• Experience in CMMS (MEX would be advantageous)
• Ability to work with a variety of stakeholders including, engineering / maintenance, site management and production / factory floor staff
• Willingness to undergo a pre-employment medical assessment incl. drug & alcohol screening
