The Opportunity

We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Reliability Engineer to join our Engineering and Planning team in Melbourne, VIC, Brisbane, QLD or Perth WA on a 12-month fixed term. 

Reporting to the Team Lead Rotating, you will play a key role in developing our reliability framework and delivering customer focussed reliability initiatives with a value adding mind-set that drives operational excellence across APA facilities.

The position plays an important role in helping to improve our business systems to manage engineering work on our facilities, including but not limited to establishing the key performance indicators and systems and tools for investigation & vulnerability management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting field teams and assisting to instil the Facilities Engineering Team strategic vision.
  • Supporting decision making and uplifting strategic vision.
  • Assisting Operations & Maintenance and Asset Management with operational integrity, compliance, and Reliability Engineering support.
  • Identify and deliver asset performance and continuous improvement process initiatives.
  • Support remote regions to provide proactive asset lifecycle management.
  • Develop and maintain quality relationships with a variety of key stakeholders.
     

About You

  • Extensive experience in operation and maintenance of oil & gas facilities or similar heavy industrial industry, with a focus on reliability systems or operational engineering.
  • Knowledge of industrial reliability best practices.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering business improvement outcomes across maintenance, reliability, operation and inspection of assets.
  • Well-developed communication and influencing skills with demonstrated experience in change management.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership capability to provide clear vision and direction to technical and non-technical professionals to achieve targeted outcomes.
  • Ability to assess, understand and management risk in diverse range of assets.

Operating APA’s energy infrastructure requires technical solutions and sustainable operating decisions every day. The Facilities Engineering Team supports operations to optimise maintenance, inspection and reliability improvements for APA facilities.
 

Facilities Engineering is a passionate multi-discipline high performing team, providing engineering and project support. The team delivers technical solutions across APA’s asset base from natural gas transmission, power generation, renewables and electricity transmission. This ensures APA’s assets keep up with expectations of customers, the community and APA’s vision to be world class.
