About the role
The Reliability Manager is responsible for the management of maintenance, reliability and compliance activity across Energy Solutions in Australia and New Zealand ensuring assets remain safe, compliant, reliable, and performing optimally. Providing subject matter expert advice to maximise the effectiveness of Asset Operations, develops processes that influence asset uptime and ensures adherence to key reliability metrics.
This role oversees maintenance system development and implementation, development of documentation and procedures, ongoing program support and training, accreditation of contract staff, ongoing monitoring of compliance activity, and makes recommendations for improvements to the programs as part of the long & medium-term strategy for the asset plans working collaboratively within the Asset Operations Team, and with the broader Energy Solutions Energy Value Chain group.
Key responsibilities
Responsible for the development and implementation of effective programs and systems for the management of maintenance and reliability for all Energy Solutions assets (Electric Vehicle Charging Stations, Battery Storage Systems, Solar PV Systems and Hydrogen refuelling equipment).
Responsible for the effective planning, scheduling, resourcing, budgeting, monitoring and reporting of all key reliability metrics including failure analysis trends and out of service tracking.
Developing long & medium-term strategic asset plans on key assets to drive improvement across all aspects of operability, efficiency, reliability, and contracts to maximise the customer experience.
Developing, implementing, and embedding an asset register across all assets to deliver and improve maintenance services to ensure safe, reliable, cost competitive and compliant sites.
Provides leadership and coaching to develop direct reports and the broader team to ensure equipment inspection, repairs and projects are completed safely, consistently and meeting appropriate standards.
Establishes effective relationships with key contractors and across the Energy Solutions Team to support ongoing reliability programs and to develop strategy and business plans.
Supports the development of best practice processes relating to asset management and operations in order to align with ISO55001.
About you
We are looking for individuals able to create innovative solutions to meet our customers’ needs, making their energy transition easy and driving value creation; able to manage and navigate ambiguity, complexity, and uncertainty by utilising structured problem-solving techniques.
This role is open to applicants preferably based in Sydney, Melbourne, or Brisbane in Australia or Auckland and Wellington in New Zealand; with full working rights and 7+ years’ experience in a similar role, developing processes and systems to improve operations and maintenance with excellent presentation, oral and written communications skills.
Key skills and experience
- Tertiary qualifications in engineering disciplines such as Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical or Process preferable
- Reliability and Operational experience in leadership roles relevant to managing electrical and mechanical installations with exposure to assets such as EV charging infrastructure, solar and/or battery installations preferable but not essential.
- Proven record of developing and delivering structured continuous improvement plans
- Demonstrated experience in developing strategy around commercial imperatives, compliance, process and systems.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and drive change and performance, through a culture of Continuous Improvement and Change management.
- Management reporting experience
- Experience in program, project and business improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrated leadership experience with an ability to develop others.
- Ability to set and develop clear communications and influence decisions across all levels of the organisation.
