About the role and where you will be working:
We are seeking to appoint a passionate and enthusiastic Relief chef to work in Kalgoorlie to cover leave and assistance as required.
We want people to feel at home, and proudly offer meals / snacks that are nutritious, palatable and attractive.
Fully catering for all different types of needs, you’ll be serving meals that could be texture-modified or plated in a particular way.
This is a casual position
We’ll also be asking you to:
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, food safety & menu plans.
- Monitor & manage effective use of resources (stock) & work within budgets.
- Assist with catering services for family functions.
- Guide & coach others on safe food handling.
- Discuss any issues with Facility Managers on site.
About you:
With commercial cooking experience under your belt, you may already be working in aged care or perhaps you've been contemplating moving into the aged care sector.
You might have finessed your skills in restaurants or commercial kitchens, but want to try something different.
Once you’ve settled into your new role, you'll truly appreciate knowing that you've made a genuine difference in the quality of our residents' lives.
To be considered for this role, you’ll need:
- Certificate IV in Commercial Cooking
- Prior experience in commercial cooking services
- An understanding of specific dietary requirements
- Knowledge of safe handling & storage of chemicals
- Great interpersonal skills
