- Conducting prenatal assessments, including physical exams, blood tests, and ultrasounds.
- Monitoring labor progression, fetal heart rate, and maternal vital signs.
- Providing pain management techniques, emotional support, and reassurance during labor.
- Assisting with delivery, including managing complications if they arise.
- Assessing the health and well-being of the mother and newborn immediately after childbirth.
- Demonstrated ability to think critically under pressure, analyse complex situations, and make sound decisions to ensure the best possible outcomes to patients.
- Understanding of patient safety and quality education and delivery of services in accordance with the National Patient Safety and Quality Standards, Work Health & Safety Act, and Ministry of Health risk management frameworks
- Bachelor of Nursing qualification (or equivalent) and current AHPRA registration
- Minimum of 2 years working in remote or rural healthcare settings
- Must hold recognized qualification in Midwifery and/or 2 years clinical experience in the field
- Evidence of prior service
- Specific qualifications or Training for specialty area
- National police certificate
- A valid and up to date Ochre Card
- Up to date vaccinations
