Our Opportunity
Work Location: Perth - Fortescue's Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.
Roster: Monday to Friday
The Remuneration Advisor role is pivotal role in administering our compensation and benefits framework, helping Fortescue to attract, retain, and motivate top talent.
Key Responsibilities
  • Compensation Strategy: Apply compensation strategy, ensuring that proposed changes to employee remuneration and conditions are in line with the framework and internal comparators. Support the team with remuneration survey submission and analysis, to ensure competitive and fair compensation packages.
  • Benefits Management: Support employee benefits programs, including working with discount partners, superannuation plan, salary sacrifice and Fortescue Plus.
  • Performance Incentives: Support the operation of the annual Staff Incentive Plan: eligibility and award calculations. Administer retention schemes.
  • Job Evaluation and architecture: Conduct job evaluations to determine appropriate salary grades and ensure internal equity across different roles.
  • Remuneration Review Process: Support the annual salary review process, working with HR teams and leaders on pay increases. including associated modelling and analysis and working with the team to ensure the accurate and timely processing of the annual salary review. Conduct ad hoc reviews for role promotions and out of cycle pay increases.
  • Data Analysis: Use SAP and SuccessFactors analytics and data to assist with data-driven recommendations for changes to pay and incentives.
  • Stakeholder relationships: Collaborate with HR teams and leaders to understand their requirements and provide guidance against our policies.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience in compensation and benefits, with practical knowledge of compensation theories, job evaluation methodologies, and remuneration design is desirable.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide strategic insights.
  • Excellent customer service skills, distilling sometimes complex concepts to employees and leaders.
  • Self-motivated and proactive in approach to role, using transactional activities to influence future work.
  • Highly collaborative internally with team members and the broader Fortescue People function.
  • Excellent engagement skills across all business levels and areas including suppliers and consultants.
  • Demonstrated experience managing competing priorities, large workloads and tight deadlines.
  • Agile work ethic and adaptability to changing organisational priorities and demands.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and ethical behaviour in handling sensitive employee information.
  • Experience in resources sector (mining, energy) is desirable.
