The role itself?
You will be responsible for conducting and managing the Field Trial Programs to characterise the field performance of new Crop Protection, Plant Health and biological products in line with technical objectives established with the company. You will engage in summarising data at the local level and contribute to regional and global field data summaries. You will provide local knowledge on crop management practices, issues, and trends to local sales and marketing teams as well as providing support with specific technical information.
Your day to day activities in this role will include:
- Flawless field trial execution: Protocol design using Corteva Trial Methods and selection of sites based on technical objectives. Being responsible for the planning, the application, and evaluation of field trials as well as the write-up and reporting
- Representing R&D on local commercial teams to define local biological questions, complete program attributes, GAP development and contributes to business case building as a key source of technical and industry knowledge
- Organising and participating in field tours upon request of biology leadership
- Summarising data from own trials as well as data from other field scientists and providing key observations and recommendations on product performance to Biology Leaders and local teams
- Measuring and documenting field performance, understanding resistance issues, and identifying trends and issues relative to current and emerging competition to Corteva’s product portfolio.
- Representing Corteva at relevant academic and government institutes in Australia and monitoring emerging trends and technology related to agriculture
- Following all company stewardship and SOP requirements as well as completing all internal safety standard documentation as required
- Working with Corteva regulatory specialists to ensure that all trial work is done in compliance with local regulations and APVMA permits
What kind of person will suit the role?
The perfect person for this role would be someone with tertiary agronomy qualifications and previous broadacre or horticultural research agronomy experience. A person that has a proven ability to establish, maintain and develop relationships by providing quality information and solutions. This role will suit someone that is passionate about agronomy and is driven to exceed the expectations of the industry.
