Job Description & Summary

To solve important problems we need to aim for the inclusion of our diverse talent. We empower our people to use their creativity, authenticity and human differences to be the champions of change. We know that when people from diverse backgrounds and with different points of view work together, we create the most value - for our clients, our people and our society. If you don’t think you quite meet all of the qualifications, we’d still love to hear from you.

About Us

Today’s world isn’t simple. The challenges facing business and society are complex. At PwC, we’ve created ‘The New Equation’ as our global strategy to address the breadth and complexity of challenges facing businesses and society. We’re combining everything we offer in new, creative ways. This builds trust, delivers sustained outcomes and helps clients solve their most important problems.

We know those challenges need to be looked at from a new angle. With your human ingenuity, passion and experience combined with the latest technology, these problems become easier to tackle. Together, we are a passionate community of solvers coming together in unexpected ways, creating new solutions for a new day.

We’re in the business of transformation. To transform the future, we're building a diverse, ambitious team who strive for imaginative ways of solving our clients' most important challenges. You'll get to work with the latest technologies, in an environment that empowers you to think differently.

You will be at the forefront of helping Australia’s governments, not-for-profits and businesses transform the way they serve customers and citizens.

Critical to our client’s success is having valuable and reliable customer insights to inform strategic and operational improvements in customer experience, channel transformation, brand and product strategies, sales and service initiatives and pricing.

You will contribute to a full suite of brand, experience, product and pricing insights projects including qualitative and quantitative insights projects, multi-year tracking studies and design and implementation of organisational experience measurement systems.

How and where work gets done is being reimagined. It all adds up to The New Equation.

Responsibilities

As a Research Associate in our Skilled Service Hub, you will work closely with research SMEs on both qualitative and quantitative research projects. You will make an impact on the end-to-end delivery of research projects by:

  • Designing research artefacts such as qualitative discussion guides and quantitative survey instruments in a way that effectively answer the research objectives

  • Working with research leads to undertake qualitative research such as in-depth interviews and focus groups

  • Project managing research projects from start to finish, ensuring they are executed to the highest standard in a timely and cost efficient manner

  • Synthesising findings of qualitative research and turning them into impactful stories that bring the customer issues and expectations to life

  • Analysing quantitative research outputs, converting data into actionable insights

  • Telling impactful stories through the use of both qualitative and quantitative findings in a manner that engages the audience and spurs them to action

Requirements

You will be great for this role if you have:

  • Fundamental understanding of market research or social research techniques (either qualitative, quantitative or both!) gained either as part of your university degree or through previous experience working in a market research or insights analyst role

  • Demonstrated data literacy and analytical skills

  • Demonstrated project management skills

  • Ability to work independently but knowing when to ask for support and guidance

  • Demonstrated ability to work in diverse teams and agile environments

  • Strong people skills and an ability to engage all levels of the organisation

  • Strong writing skills

  • While experience working with a range of data analysis, visualisation packages and platforms (e.g. SPSS, Q Market Research Software, Medallia, Qualtrics, Python) as well as qualitative research tools (e.g. Dovetail, Miro) will be highly valued, it is not a must-have and training will be provided to upskill you in the use of these tools.

More importantly, we want to hear from you if:

You want to make a difference and have a passion for social responsibility and believe that your design skills play an integral role in shaping our country and the globe.

You love re-imagining the possible and you’re driven by shaping new ideas, challenging the status-quo and thrive in sometimes ambiguous situations that can lead to industry shaping experiences.

You are a sound communicator, believing in the power of storytelling, using it as an important tool to shape conversations you have with clients and your colleagues.

Passionate about being at the forefront of change, you’re ready to help our team deliver practical advice that speaks straight to the heart of client business issues and deliver innovative results.

You’re collaborative and enjoy working in an innovative environment. You’re a problem solver by nature and want to join a firm that values the kind of people who reimagine the possible for their clients and stakeholders. Most importantly, you act with integrity and show care for the people you work with.

Your New Benefits

  • Flexible daily working hours, we value work-life balance

  • Work overseas or interstate, we know how precious time is with your family and friends

  • Paid study (and leave!), we’ll pay all the costs and give you time off to study

  • No dress code, wear what makes you feel comfortable and dress for your day

  • Yearly bonuses, because who doesn’t love to be rewarded for great performance!

  • Health & fitness perks, like a wellness stipend and discounted memberships

  • Generous parental leave policy for mums, dads and foster carers
