Hitachi Australia is currently seeking a Research Associate to join our Research and Development Team based in our North Ryde, NSW office. This position will offer a full-time fixed term contract for 12 months reporting into the Senior Manager - R & D.
Hitachi Australia's Research and Development Centre’s mission is to support new business development in Australia. We do this by understanding the market, validating customer needs, and creating future business growth scenarios. This will expand Hitachi's business in green energy transformation and digital sectors.
The successful candidate will be accountable for assisting new digital solution planning and prototype demonstrations. This will be done by targeting “ESG management in Built Environment” sector. This role will contribute to incubating the business growth opportunities through co-creation with customers and working closely with Hitachi’s group companies.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The principal accountabilities for this position will include but not limited to:
- Assisting business opportunity identification through market analysis, customer understanding, customer pain point analysis.
- Assisting digital solution planning addressing identified customer issues
- Assisting digital solution demonstrations using wireframe prototyping/mock-up
- Assisting validation of the solution value and customer acceptance through customer proposals and customer interviews
- Writing research reports to distribute lessons learnt through projects.
- Ensure that Company standards/procedures and quality assurance standards are always adhered to.
- Maintain vigilance on export control in compliance with the requirements of Australian and Japanese laws governing export control procedures.
- Ensure high level of staff morale, communication, and professionalism in dealing with customers, staff, Hitachi HQ and senior management.
QUALIFICATIONS
University Degree with tertiary qualifications in business, economics, commerce, or a related technology field.
- 1- 3 years of experience in a similar role in corporate, startup or academic environment.
- Demonstrated experience in green energy and digital transformation sectors.
- Demonstrated experience in customer interviews, market analysis and business planning is desirable.
- Entrepreneurial minded and demonstrated commercial acumen.
- Strong logical reasoning and creative thinking skills.
