Reporting to Associate Professor Nadine Marcus and working closely with Professor Hussein Abbass you’ll undertake research focusing on the areas of Human Computer Interaction, Artificial Intelligence, and swarm systems. The Research Associate contributes to conducting research activities, provides summary of results, and undertakes a range of research administrative duties.

Who You Are:
You have a PhD in Human Computer Interaction, Artificial Intelligence or a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience, and can demonstrate the following Skills and Experience: -
- Computer programming
- Commitment to proactively keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments
- Ability to undertake high quality academic research and conduct independent research with limited supervision
- Track record of publications and conference presentations relative to opportunity
- Ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships
- Highly developed interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate and interact with a diverse range of stakeholders and students
- An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines
- Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training
- Interface design, development and testing is desirable, as well as experience working with autonomous vehicles, and/or sensors used to measure cognitive load.
Note: The successful candidate may be required to hold or attain an Australian government security clearance.
