Who Are We?

We're Diabetes Australia, the national body for the 1.4 million Australians living with diabetes, as well as those at risk. Our mission? To reduce the impact of diabetes through advocacy, programs, and partnerships with people, health professionals, and researchers. Diabetes Australia is a respected and valued source of information, advice and views utilised by government and the community.

What's the Role About?

As our Research Coordinator, you'll be the backbone of our Research Program team. This is a part-time role (20 hours a week) and you can work from the comfort of your home. You'll be handling everything from uploading applications to our research database, communicating with stakeholders, organising meetings, and much more. Your work will directly support our Medical Educational and Scientific Committee (MESC) and the Kellion Victory Medal Scheme.

This opportunity is for an immediate start until 31 October 2024. This role can be completed remotely, additionally, we have offices located in Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra, and Hobart.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Database Management: Keep our research database (thankQ) up-to-date and maintain data quality.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Be the friendly voice that applicants, panel members, reviewers, and funding recipients hear.
  • Meeting Organisation: Assist in planning and organizing review meetings.
  • Grant Processing: Handle payments, review invoices, and ensure smooth financial operations.
  • Project Monitoring: Track project progress and follow up on reports and obligations.
  • Program Support: Help with documentation, process updates, and outcome monitoring.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in an administrative role, preferably with database management.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in MS Office.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and manage high-level stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently while being a team player.
  • Knowledge of research program management is a big plus.
