The team is dedicated to creating a customer focused and collaborative environment, empowering decision makers in the delivery of innovative education and research. The RoleWorking as a pivotal part of the Finance Team, the Research Finance Officer assists the Research Finance Team Leader, Researchers, Institute and Centre Managers in the execution of their role by providing a single point of contact for External Grant funding issues and queries. Key responsibilities for the role include:Coordinating and processing research grant budgets and forecast information,Monitor actual to budget variances and conduct monthly financial analysis,Provide financial transaction statements as required,Prepare invoices for research accounts and journal transfer requests,Conduct analysis to prepare research data reports,Prepare project and milestone reporting and account acquittals,Account management of research projects, reviewing approvals of research and consultancy applications for financial impact.What you'll bring to this roleRelevant degree or a combination of experience and/or education/training,Demonstrated skill and experience in complex numeracy tasks,Computer literacy skills with experience working with spreadsheet and accounting applications,High level of attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving,Demonstrated high organisational and time management skills, with the ability to seek advice/assistance when required,Ability to anticipate and influence customer needs and wants, striving to provide products and services that meet their short/medium- and long-term needs.Applicants should refer to the Position Description for further details on the work requirements, duties, skills and experience required for this role.
