About us…

The Australian Federal Police Association (AFPA) represents the professional, industrial and welfare interests of Australian Federal Police (AFP) employees.

The AFPA has industrial coverage for all employees deployed nationally and overseas within the AFP which includes sworn Federal Agents, Police Officers, Protective Service Officers, and professional staff.

As an autonomous branch of the Police Federation of Australia (PFA), the AFPA is a registered Trade Union operating under the Fair Work (Registered Organisations) Act 2009.

The AFPA office is located in Canberra ACT.

About you…

Your skill in case work, representation, and research will benefit those who need it most.

Your Industrial Relations, Human Resources and/or Politics background will underpin high quality advice and research as a Research & Industrial Officer with the AFPA.

Your social conscience will be rewarded while you are well remunerated for your competence and professional effort.

Your exposure to industrial and employment issues management will play a central role in assisting our Members, and your research support the AFPA to better the working conditions of those Members.

Your professional background

  • Experience in Industrial Relations, Human Resources, Political Science or similar.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of IR/WR legislative frameworks.
  • Strong research skills.
