Job description

Fed up of working in a role where you are dealing with problem after problem - We all know what that feels like! Looking to work in an industry where everyone is excited about the day ahead? Imagine the Great Barrier Reef being your office every day?

About the company:

If you are looking to work for one of Cairns' premier tour operators, renowned for their commitment to sustainable and eco-tourism on the Great Barrier Reef, then this is an opportunity not to be missed. Offering a diverse array of operations, from managing tropical island resorts to dive and snorkel boat adventures, our client provides an unparalleled eco-tourism experience to their customers in Far North Queensland.

About the Role:

As a Reservations Supervisor, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of the business. Your responsibilities will include managing staff, identifying and overseeing training, managing schedules and daily task checklists, as well as directly interacting with customers during busy reservation periods. You will be a leader who fosters inclusivity and promotes team wellbeing by your sensitive and professional approach. Your high attention to detail will see the team successfully maintain accurate reservations, manage cancellations, and gather guest feedback in a way that continuously enhances the services of the business.

About You:

We are seeking candidates with a minimum of 2 years supervisory experience (preferably within the hospitality or tourism sector).

You will be proactive and have the ability to think on your feet and solve problems with efficiency and minimal fuss.

Intermediate computer skills are a given and, whilst experience using reservation systems such as 'Respax' and 'RMS' is desirable, applications from all suitable supervisors will be considered. Attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, multicultural environment are essential qualities for success in this role.

The Job:

This is a permanent full-time position operating over a 7-day roster, requiring flexibility to work weekends. You'll work 38 hours per week between the hours of 7am and 6pm, with penalty rates applicable for significant days such as Christmas and Easter. Fostering a family-oriented culture, corporate discounts are offered on all tour and resort packages for you and your loved ones. In addition to corporate discounts, you'll have opportunities for career progression and enjoy discounts on private health insurance.

Don't delay - Apply today:

If you're ready to embark on an exciting journey with a leading eco-tourism company and meet all of the criteria outlined above, we'd love to hear from you. Please submit your resume and cover letter here detailing your relevant experience and why you're the ideal candidate for this role. If you'd like any further information, contact Debbie at IPA on 07 4044 2*** (Note; this is a permanent role - Working Holiday Visa applicants will not be considered).

Join our client in preserving and promoting the wonders of the Great Barrier Reef while delivering exceptional experiences to their valued guests. Apply today and become a vital part of their team!
