Reporting to the Case Manager, Residential Youth Workers deliver the day-to-day care to young people in the Residential Care house. A day in the role of a Residential Youth Worker may include supporting young people to manage challenging behaviours, planning or attending activities and following daily routines to promote life-skills development. Residential Youth Workers complete case notes and admin tasks daily as well as helping to maintain a clean and safe environment.What's on offerCasual employment Competitive hourly rates casual base $45.00 (inclusive of 25% loading), Afternoon shift $49.50, Night shift $50.40, Saturday shift $63.00, Sunday shift $81.00Sleepover allowance $55.89Not for profit salary packaging options (package up to $15,900 per FBT year)No rostered 24 hour shiftsNo use of personal vehicle on shift Dedicated on-call team for after-hours supportTraining opportunities including Therapeutic Crisis Intervention training, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Foundation training, Preventing Child Sexual Exploitation and Sanctuary trainingAbout youThe ideal person for this role would be flexible, adaptable and open to learning as no two days are the same. Working with young people displaying highly complex and challenging behaviours, requires you to build rapport quickly and remain non-judgmental. This also requires you to have resilience and good professional boundaries. You will be comfortable with computers and completing the admin tasks required.
