West HQ is committed to helping our guests enjoy gaming responsibly. The gaming activities at our club are underpinned by our Responsible Gambling Policies and Procedures under our Gaming Plan of Management.
As a Responsible Gambling Officer, you will play a critical role in supporting our Responsible Gambling Policies and Procedures by ensuring accurate reporting, management of patrons with potential problems in gambling.
Responsible Gambling Officer responsibilities:
- Identifying patrons who are at risk of harm or displaying problematic gambling behaviour,
- Proactively checking-in and engaging with patrons where the RGO suspects they might be experiencing gambling harm,
- Being available if staff members need assistance regarding patrons, they suspect might be experiencing gambling harm,
- Escalating serious instances of gambling harm to senior management to intervene (e.g. Aggressive behaviour etc),
- Facilitating the provision of gambling help information,
- Facilitating any requests for self-exclusion,
- Recording instances of potential gambling harm in a gambling incident register,
- Reviewing the gambling incident register on a regular basis and discussing any actions required with venue management.
- Working with staff and management to ensure the venue fulfils its harm minimisation obligations.
- Promoting harm minimisation measures and procedures within the venue and with other staff.
As an RGO, you must:
- Holds a current ARCG certificate.
- Holds a current RSA/RCG certificate.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Words and Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to influence, establish and maintain strong relationships with operational stakeholders.
- Understanding of Responsible Gambling practices
- Caring and helpful attitude
- Strong understanding of the products, services, brands & upcoming events across our destination
