Established in 2017, Hogget Kitchen is located in the beautiful, rolling green hills of West Gippsland, five minutes south of Warragul and 90 minutes east of Melbourne. Awarded One Hat by The Age ‘Good Food Guide’ since 2020, our farm-to-table menu changes weekly, featuring seasonal, local produce, from our open kitchen overlooking the stunning vineyard of Wild Dog Estate.
Lead by Head Chef & owner, Trevor Perkins, our small, close-knit team pride ourselves on warm, genuine hospitality and our close relationships with producers, creating a true, memorable paddock-to-plate dining experience, showcasing our region.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for someone special to lead our front of house team. This role requires a strong floor presence, leading our team by example, and effectively completeing the day-to-day opperations of the restaurant. Supportive team environment, with a 4 day working week - Thursday to Sunday roster. Role negotaiable between 30 - 38 hours.
Our ideal candidate will possess following;
- Experience in a similar role within a fine-dining or bistro setting.
- Knowledge of, and passion for, local and seasonal food, beverage, and local producers.
- Passion for exceeding guest expectations and creating memorable dining experiences, with warm, attentive service.
- Well presented, with a friendly, positive, professional manner.
- Be highly motivated and organised, with exceptional time managment skills and the ability to multitask.
- The ability to work under pressure and prioritise effectively, while calmly managing busy services.
- Strong administration skills, proficent in Microsoft suite, Outlook, POS Management (Ordermate preferred), Reservation management (OBEE preffered).
- A can-do attitude, with a strong work ethic and a commitment to maintaining our high standards.
- Clear, effective communication.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to build, lead and motivate our team compassionately and effectively.
- Experience in induction, training and mentoring of new staff.
- The ability to lead by example; demonstating a hand-on approach and fostering a nuturing and respectful work environment .
