The Property Department is an integral part of the Michael Hill business as the proponent of design, execution and maintenance of all retail stores and offices. Based in our purpose built, state of the art building in Cannon Hill, this is a newly created role that will assist with the completion of over 50 building projects in a year, globally.
Reporting to the Group Property Manager the Retail Draftsperson will deliver retail drawings and construction details for all brands of the Michael Hill Group. In addition, this role is responsible for ensuring proposed floor plans and relevant drawings are delivered accurately and on time. Communication is key as the successful draftsperson will consult with leaders on store layouts and design.
More about the role:
- Translate conceptual designs into practical and functional retail layouts.
- Generate accurate and detailed construction documents, including plans, sections, and details – ready for tender documentation which will be required at times.
- Ensure drawings comply with industry standards, regulations, and guidelines.
- Research, draft, review and constantly monitor all Typical Details on file for all shop fit out details and materials.
- Collaborate with the design team to develop efficient and visually appealing retail space layouts and other ad hoc projects.
- Utilize REVIT/AutoCAD or other drafting software to create detailed floor plans, elevation drawings, and 3D models.
More about you:
- In depth knowledge in building construction processes, standards and certifications.
- An expert hand in Revit, AutoCAD (3D), Photoshop.
- Proven construction documentation knowledge including document for tender experience.
- Strong understanding of retail design principles and construction techniques.
- Intermediate level knowledge of MS Office software.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
- Proven teamwork skills.
- Ability to be agile and work in a high paced team is required.
