Located in New Lambton, Village Grocer Blackbutt is a small, locally owned supermarket known for its exceptional customer service and quality fresh food and grocery essentials.
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Store Manager to join our team. Operating for the past three years in the same location, our supermarket offers a unique opportunity for growth and development.
As the Store Manager, you will enjoy a set roster of 35-38 hours per week, which may include alternate weekends. We are also willing to be flexible with your personal schedule.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to lead and motivate a small team in a fast-paced and diverse environment. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing exceptional customer service and building strong relationships within the local community.
- Leading, motivating, and developing team members to achieve their full potential.
- Effectively managing inventory, including ordering and maintaining stock levels in various departments.
- Upholding high standards of store presentation and cleanliness.
- Driving sales growth through innovative approaches to fresh and "grab n go" food options.
- Possessing proficient IT and computer skills, with a solid understanding of retail technology preferred.
- Ensuring compliance with OH&S procedures, food safety regulations, and a comprehensive understanding of the supermarket industry.
In addition, Village Grocer Blackbutt partners with Clear Sky Australia (CSA), a local Disability Support Provider in Newcastle, to run work experience programs for people living with disabilities. This partnership demonstrates our commitment to inclusiveness in the community. This will also require you to provide work experience training and share your awesome tricks of the trade with the participants on the program.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 12 months experience in a similar area of retail, preferably in a supermarket or grocery store.
