About the Job
The position of Retail Store Assistant Manager will be based at our Kingaroy store in the South Burnett region of Queensland.
Reporting to the Store Manager, you will assist in leading people, store operations, and store environment to achieve sales, service, organisation, customer satisfaction, and profitability goals while maintaining safety and operational standards.
Key responsibilities of this role shall include, but not be limited to:
Lead by example to promote the Price Plus brand and culture internally and externally by living our values and beliefs.
Ensure the store is ready for business every day, implementing and maintaining high standards of visual merchandising and store appearance.
Ensure we provide service excellence to internal and external stakeholders.
Take all the necessary measures to ensure the safety and security of all customers and staff.
Perform all daily administration procedures accurately, including completing all required reports and/or paperwork as per company guidelines.
Support the store manager to recruit, train, lead and engage the team by providing structured feedback and coaching to develop the team with a clear vision and goals to ensure the team is always achieving peak performance.
Daily management of stock to minimise shrinkage and improve accuracy within our systems, including cycle counts and adherence to correct processing procedures.
Challenge and improve current processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
Identify opportunities for growth and execute actions to take advantage of these accordingly.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Previous experience as a retail supervisor/ leader assisting managing the daily operation of a high-volume retail store in a fast-paced environment.
Good communication and listening skills with a resilient and confident profile.
Effective management and leadership skills.
Understanding of human resources, payroll, and collective agreements/awards, managing time, rosters, and people’s performance.
Demonstrated results delivering outcomes and achieving KPIs with the ability to set and deliver high standards of customer service.
Highly organised with good prioritisation and time management skills to effectively plan and organise your own workload and establish priorities with your store team.
Knowledge of computerised systems, time, attendance, workplace management and training systems- POS systems, Microsoft office, and administration procedures are essential.
Ability to problem solve, think outside the box and make decisions on the spot.
Flexible and adaptable to change with balanced emotional intelligence skills.
Availability to work long shifts, weekends, holiday, and key event periods, when necessary, to meet the business requirements.
Physical requirements include the ability to twist, bend, squat, reach, climb a ladder, push, and pull, some heavy lifting, and stand for extended periods of time.
