About the Position
We are currently recruiting for the position of Rigger/GMW (General Mill Worker) in the Burdekin Region at Pioneer Mill. This is a permanent position and the successful applicant will be required to perform a full range of duties including but not limited to working in a team environment assisting mechanical trades with plant maintenance and emergency breakdowns. working independently inspecting/setting up lifting gear to execute jobs in a safe and efficient manner. You will work as key part of the maintenance and report to the Senior Work Coordinator, Job level will depend on current qualifications and skills required to complete the position.

The main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Ensure rigging equipment is checked, maintained and tested, any faulty equipment tagged and reported immediately
• Ensure permits to work, risk assessments, lift studies and job safety analysis are conducted for all work undertaken
• Perform plant maintenance and/or assist day work/shift trades and production operations as required
• Strong communication skills and work ethic
• Have an excellent understanding of the WH&S regulations relating to HRW Licence

Essential Criteria:

• Rigging HRW Licence
• Dogger HRW Licence
• A willingness and ability to acquire new skills and or qualifications if required.

Desirable Skills:

• Overhead Gantry Crane Ticket
• Forklift HRW Licence
• Skid Steer Ticket
• HR Licence
• Common User Competencies skills i.e Welding/Fitting Skills
