The key responsibilities of this position are:
- Assist with dual lifts and mathematical assessment
- Align level and anchor machinery
- Attach loads to rigging to provide support or prepare them for moving using hand and power tools
- Attach pulleys and blocks to fixed overhead structures using bolts and clamps
- Control movement of heavy equipment through narrow openings or confined spaces using chainfalls, gin poles and gallows frames
- Dismantle and store rigging equipment
- Fabricate, set up and repair rigging, supporting structures, hoists and pulling gear using hand and power tools
- Update rigging register
- Conduct pre-start checks on plant and equipment, hand tools, tooling and equipment prior carrying out the task
- Maintain and keep tools and equipment in a safe area. Lock them away or return to store when not required
- Comply with industry safety standards and work practices
- Follow quality control systems and techniques
- Ensure adequate rest and sleep and be in best fitness for work
- Inspect your work area and complete Take-5 to assess risks and implement controls
- Report any incident to your supervisor immediately
- Perform other general duties as required
