PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Risk Control Specialist role enables operational delivery of A&G’s risk management strategy throughout Product and Claims & Assessing and ensures the compliance and protection of the company through the implementation and maintenance of a robust risk framework. This role will work across Product and Claims & Assessing to formulate and execute key risk governance initiatives for A&G.
Key success criteria include product knowledge and delivery across claims cost management, customer outcomes, productivity, and a culture of high performance with high integrity.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Create and foster a strong 1st Line Assurance for Product and C&A.
- Improve internal Risk Controls, detection, and response capabilities across Product and C&A.
- Partner with our Quality Assurance Function and the change delivery teams to map, test, and improve our control environment.
- Maintain detailed technical and practical knowledge of regulatory and industry compliance requirements.
- Act as an internal subject matter expert in providing risk and compliance advice, expertise, and education across Product and Claims & Assessing.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 3 years insurance experience (Financial Services/Insurance preferred).
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional customer service insight and delivery.
- Strong ability to negotiate & influence in challenging circumstances with tight timeframes.
- Ability to establish measurable audit methods for risk and compliance to best suit their customer.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Computer literate.
- Strong planning and organisational ability.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Well-developed and demonstrated understanding of the legislative, regulatory, and compliance obligations to operate in the FSR environment.
