Westfield Marion is the largest shopping centre in Adelaide, with over 300 retailers and a commercial office tower. The centre is home to some of Australia’s most recognised major retailers including Myer, David Jones, Target, Kmart, Big W, Harris Scarfe, Woolworths, Coles, ALDI, Bunnings and Event Cinemas.
Your opportunity
We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Risk and Security Manager to join Westfield Marion on a 12-month fixed term contract. This senior leadership role is focused on directing the Living Destination risk and security management functions, providing the optimal level of security and safety for our employees, contractors, retailers and customers. This role is ideally suited to candidates with strong experience in visitor management with a focus on creating extraordinary customer experience environments and the ability to engage with a range of community stakeholders.
Day to day, you’ll be responsible for:
- Proactively planning and delivering priorities from our Safety Framework, providing a safe and secure environment that exceeds customer expectations, whilst promoting safety as an integral part of the customer experience
- Proactive management, reporting, and response to hazard identification, incidents, emergencies, near misses and claims
- Manage safety audits and inspection programs
- Manage compliance with all security & health & safety policies, procedures, & practices at the Centre
- Attend to Centre emergencies; ensuring risk and security staff and contractors are trained to deal with all emergencies
- Management of external service providers and contract security staff
- Develop strong relationships and work with local Police, WHS Regulators, Fire Brigade and Ambulance Services to develop operational and emergency protocols
- Working with community organisations to have a positive impact on the community
This is a full time 12-month fixed contract opportunity based at Westfield Marion Shopping Centre.
As a part of our asset team, you’ll also have Duty Management responsibilities from time to time too, where you’ll be required to work a weekend shift (on a roster), which will be balanced with a day off in lieu.
What will set you apart from the rest?
You’ll have excellent risk management experience, partnered with a strong background in security, and a passion for retail property! Technically, you’ll also have the following skills and experience:
- Qualification or related experience in Work Health and Safety
- A strong background in leading security and risk management
- Demonstrated ability to mitigate & manage risk, manage incident response, reporting, authority interaction and insurance claims management
- Experience and technical knowledge of CCTV and Access Control systems, and visitor and contractor management systems
- Strong commercial acumen and data and trend analysis.
- Capability in managing multiple stakeholder groups and community leadership and engagement.
