About the role

The Australian Financial Security Authority (AFSA) is responsible for managing the application of bankruptcy and personal property securities laws through the delivery of high-quality personal insolvency and trustee, regulation and enforcement, and personal property securities services. 

The Corporate Services Division is responsible for delivering a range of business and enabling services that support the Australian Financial Security Authority purpose through partnering with business divisions that regulate Australia’s personal insolvency and personal property securities programs. The Division provides professional services and leadership that promotes the efficient and effective operations of the agency whilst ensuring compliance with commonwealth legislation, polices and guidelines and promoting integrity, accountability and transparency.

Purpose of the Position

The Change Manager will work alongside Directors and SES to provide strategic advice and guidance on change management activities, directed at supporting business to achieve organisational outcomes. These roles will be responsible for continuing to embed AFSA’s Change Management Framework and practices and increase change management capability across the workforce.

Key accountabilities

  • Support strategic decision making of senior leaders, by providing strategic change advice and data driven insights on transformation activities. This is achieved through establishing and maintaining partnerships with internal stakeholders, and being a conduit of business insights to the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office to shape transformation initiatives that are responsive to business needs.
  • Provide advice to senior leaders, project teams and people leaders on the AFSA change management framework and align advice to AFSA’s legal and policy framework and strategic direction, embedding change management practices across AFSA.
  • Deliver transformation coaching to people leaders as required to engage and influence leaders through the transformation journey. This includes identifying required interventions, opportunities for capability development and embedding behavioural change supported by the Capability Framework.
  • Advise and coach managers to enact their leadership and management responsibilities, building the capability of future AFSA leaders.
  • Deliver Prosci change training to staff and leaders to support AFSA’s learning and development objectives.
  • The Assistant Director role may lead a team through:

o Establishing clear work expectations, systems and processes

o Encouraging and supporting ongoing capability development opportunities

o Providing regular, timely feedback

o Identifying opportunities to enhance team performance in an environment of collaboration, continuous improvement and change

o Aligning to clear customer service-related outcomes and expectations

  • Ensures compliance with all legislative and policy requirements to mitigate risk.

Qualifications

  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant field of study or extensive experience in change management or related discipline is highly desirable.
  • Min 2+ years demonstrated experience delivering targeted change management activities.
  • Practitioner certification with Prosci is highly desired.
