About the role
Horsham Dialysis Unit is a 6-station, state of the art facility providing Haemodialysis to patients with end-stage renal disease. Support is also provided for patients dialysing in the region, who require additional treatments in Horsham. The Dialysis unit is open from Monday to Saturday with two shifts throughout the day. The Horsham Dialysis Unit embodies a culture of teamwork and respect and is one of a number of regional Satellite centres in partnership with the Hub service of the Royal Melbourne Hospital. The Horsham Dialysis Unit also assists the smaller units in the region with commencing and establishing new patients onto Dialysis and assisting in problematic access issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver individualised nursing care as part of a multidisciplinary team as per the patient care requirements.
  • Ensure nursing care is provided according to individual patient assessment and healthcare needs.
  • Effectively communicate and liaise with relevant medical, nursing and allied health staff regarding patient care issues.
  • Provide evidence-based practice that has a problem solving approach and is competency based.

Skills and experience

Previous experience with haemodialysis preferred, but full training will be given to the right applicant.

  • Current AHPRA Registration.
  • Clinical skills relevant to haemodialysis nursing.

This position is paid in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2020 - 2024. The classification is Registered Nurse Grade 2 (YP2 - YP9) which ranges from $34.17 - $48.26 per hour.

All appointments are subject to a satisfactory police records check, immunisation clearance and Working with Children check and/or NDIS Worker Screening Check.

All employees must be willing and able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required, which at a minimum is a surgical mask.  Additional PPE requirements are role-dependent.
