About the role:
Are you looking to kick-start your career in the rail industry? Aurizon is currently seeking applications from local Avon residents to join the maintenance team in our Avon depot. This role will be responsible for the operational maintenance of rollingstock to ensure the safe and efficient running of Aurizon’s fleet. The role of Rollingstock Maintainer will be responsible for the following:
Your new role:
- Undertake examination and inspection of rollingstock including brake testing as part of a train or as single vehicles
- Control the movement of trains within the area of operations and carry out instructions concerning train movements and safe working
- Undertake shunting and marshalling of wagons and trains as required
- Identify faults, repair, service and maintain rollingstock as part of a train or as single vehicles
- Carry out repairs, component change out, servicing and modification to rollingstock
- Provide support functions for the maintenance of locomotives, rollingstock, ancillary vehicles, machines and equipment
- Provide material requirements to ensure safe and efficient running of rollingstock.
- Operate fixed, mobile plant and signalling equipment
- Attend to depot and yard duties
About you:
- Strong commitment to safety
- Current unrestricted WA driver’s license
- High level of knowledge of functions, defects, and fault findings with equipment
- Cert III in Engineering or equivalent would be highly regarded, however, is not essential
- Substantial level of skills in repair, maintenance, and overhaul of machinery although not essential, would be highly regarded
