We have a wonderful opportunity at our Karri & Tuart Lodge in Merriwa for an experienced Roster Coordinator. This role is essential in helping RAAFA maintain the ability to deliver the exceptional care that we are known for. You will be responsible for, amongst other things, arranging staff training, managing the site training matrix, supporting the Facility Manager in identifying recruitment needs and arranging staff appraisals and staff leave requests.

The role and you:

• A strong understanding of contemporary rostering practices;

• An ability to build and maintain a roster, allocating staff with appropriate skills and knowledge, and in line with budget and EBA awards;

• Experience coordinating a team of shift workers in the aged care industry or similar environment as well as developing and fostering a positive team culture;
• Demonstrated computer literacy in word processing, excel spread sheets, calendar management and experience using the rostering tool Optima (or similar);
• Demonstrated administration experience with a high level of attention to detail;
• Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Highly organised with the ability to multitask;
• Ability to work independently and problem solve issues related to any part of the role;
• Demonstrated confidential approach to managing employees’ information;
• Experience in award and agreement interpretation and understanding how to apply these when rostering in 24/7 environments;
• A passion for working in Aged Care and genuine care and respect for older people.

About the Facilities:

The Merriwa Estate is home to one of our two Residential Care Centres in Merriwa:Karri & Tuart Lodge.

We would love for you to join us atKarri and Tuart Lodgeas a Carer. Karri and Tuart Lodge is a refurbished 110 bed Residential Care Centre located in the northern suburb of Merriwa at 19 Hughie Edwards Drive.Here we offer, permanent, respite and secure dementia care.

What you need to do:

• Have extensive experience in a similar role;
• Have a valid "C" Class Drivers Licence;
• Update your resume;
• Be eligible to work in Australia;
• Satisfactory National Police Certificate (on commencement of employment to be within six months from date of issue) or willing to obtain one;
