Your role

This role as a Rostering & Administration Officer will be responsible for the service delivery to our Home care team where you will support the cost effective, efficient and qualitative management of rostering and administration within Abound Communities, Home care Operations. The primary purpose of the role is to act as a connector between Abound Communities Residents, their staff; and Home care Operations Team Members to ensure consistent and reliable service delivery.

About You

You will ideally bring the following:

  • Experience in Administration & rostering (aged care or healthcare desirable)
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite and ability to use and learn various systems e.g., quality management system, databases, payroll and rostering systems.
  • Adaptable, passionate and willingness to learn.
  • Collaborative and skilled at teamwork.
  • Friendly and effective communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a large and diverse organisation with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment and part of a tight-knit team.
  • Full Covid 19 and other related vaccination 

Key Responsibilities

  • Staff Scheduling: Developing and maintaining staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts and to meet the care requirements of residents. This involves coordinating the availability of different staff members, considering their qualifications, preferences, and contractual obligations.
  • Managing Shift Changes: Handling requests for shift changes, leave, or time off and finding suitable replacements when necessary to maintain staffing levels.
  • Communication: Maintaining effective communication with staff members to inform them of their schedules, shift changes and any updates or important information related to their work. Ensures effective and professional communication with all members of the team to ensure the needs of service delivery are appropriately met.
  • Coordination with Management: Collaborating with the facility's management team to align staffing needs with budgetary constraints and optimize workforce management.
  • Capacity Gap Management: Proactively identify and manage any foreseeable capacity gaps to ensure continuous and effective service delivery.
  • Roster Accuracy: Maintain up-to-date and accurate rosters, capturing any changes effectively and efficiently.
  • Relationships: Maintain a good working relationship and communication line with members of the team
  • Documentation: Effectively manage documentation related to the rostering and administration functions in an organized systemic manner to support any enquiries or resolve issues if they arise.
  • Training: All mandatory training requirements (i.e. SIRS) is maintained as per Abound Communities procedure and as per Clinical and Home Care Operations Manager direction.
  • Other: Undertake other administrative tasks under the direction of the Clinical and Operations Manager Home Care.
