Job description

Head Medical are seeking post foundation doctors for rotational opportunities in Tasmania’s North West Region.
Weekly Tutorials/ Training sessions
76 hours per fortnight with a broad clinical caseload
Regular flights to Melbourne
Visit Mole Creek or perhaps explore Cradle Mountain; Tasmania’s iconic wilderness destination!
The Role
With a variety of rotations available, you will have the opportunity to further broaden your clinical skills and knowledge whilst participating in weekly training sessions and tutorials. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of private and public inpatients and outpatients enjoying a varied caseload. You will join a supportive team and enjoy working closely with Consultants.
The Location
Tasmania is known for its beautiful fresh produce and seafood, attracting “foodies” with its restaurants and cafes. The temperate climate and four distinct seasons - including gloriously warm summers without the oppressive humidity or heat, and cool winters - mean the region has perfect wine growing conditions and this is reflected in the excellent wines produced along the Tamar River, with lots of little boutique wineries. The rugged and beautiful North West Coast of Tasmania is a tourist mecca, has a strong agricultural sector, a developing innovative industrial sector and is positioned with airports and sea transport so it is very accessible to the rest of Tasmania and the Australian mainland. Air travel from Devonport to Melbourne is less than one hour.
Burnie is a port city with an industrial past that has reinvented itself as a vibrant and creative city on a beautiful stretch of Tasmania's North West Coast. Take a beachside and downtown stroll and find a vibrant mix of shops and eateries serving up fresh coffee, seafood and local produce. Burnie has an art deco flavour, with fine architectural examples that you can explore on foot.
Latrobe is a river town famous for its heritage and the fresh produce that grows in the region's rich and fertile soils. There are lots of eateries serving fresh produce, plus scenic farm gates and vineyards where you can sample food from the source.

What Head Medical can do for you
Arranging a position overseas is very exciting, but we understand that it can also be daunting and time consuming. We’re the UK’s specialist in international medical recruitment and we’ve helped many Doctors relocate since we first started out in 2008 (you can read what people have said about working with us on our testimonials page). We know it’s important to balance career opportunities with lifestyle and we’ll talk through your plans and will get to know you to make sure we find the right role in the right location. Once we have secured a job for you, we’ll manage the Medical Registration and Visa application process, and support you (and your family) with the relocation itself.
