Rough Edges Night Worker

We need someone who is resilient, kind, well organised, and able to communicate humbly and clearly with our Rough Edges patrons, volunteers, program manager, and other key stakeholders. This role works Monday to Thursday nights and can accommodate anywhere from 12-20 hours of work per week based on the availability and flexibility of the right candidate.

Ideally, you will have:

• Qualifications in Human Services, Chaplaincy, Christian Ministry or Community Development
• Love for Jesus and want to translate that love into practical care for vulnerable people
• Love for Christ's church and want to see more Christians volunteering to serve those on the margins
• Some practical experience in managing and working alongside volunteers
• Practical experience in building community connections with people inside and outside the church
• The ability to live with ambiguity and "Rough Edges"
• Lots of energy and don't take yourself too seriously

Rough Edges is an iconic community service situated in Darlinghurst. Originally established by St John's Anglican Church Darlinghurst, it was set up to provide warmth, acceptance, and community to the homeless and vulnerable population of the Inner City of Sydney. It has a rich heritage of serving this community in Jesus' name since 1996.
