The Walhallow Aboriginal Corporation provides Aboriginal Medical Services in Quirindi, Coledale (Tamworth) and surrounding localities. We are a multi-disciplinary service working with and within our communities to provide high standards of care.

We are keen to employ a GP with at least 5+ years practical experience to work with Aboriginal Communities to provide comprehensive clinical and primary health care, to commence early 2023.
What we are looking for:
- First and foremost, someone with a genuine interest in improving the health of people in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
- Someone with practical knowledge and understanding of health issues effecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
- Working with Children Check – must be supplied prior to commencing employment with updates provided during the period of employment
- NSW Police History Check – must be supplied prior to commencing employment with updates provided during the period of employment
- Covid Vaccination – must be supplied prior to commencing employment with updates provided during the period of employment
- Degree in Medicine
- AHPRA and Fellow of Australian College of General Practitioners current registration GP (Fellow with either RACGP or ACCRM)
- Willingness to engage and work effectively with Aboriginal communities and with Practice staff
- Capacity to undertake research
- Sound interpersonal and communication skills including in person and in both spoken and written formats
- Effective time management and personal organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, supporting registrar/s and / or student doctors, contributing to constructive leadership within the organisation
- First Aid
- Valid NSW Drivers Licence
It is desirable that you:
- Are of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent.
- Have experience working within an Aboriginal Medical Service or General Practice environment

- Team orientated
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
- Able to work under pressure.
