About the Office for Early Childhood Development
The Office for Early Childhood Development has been formed with a clear mandate. To create a fairer and better future for all children in South Australia. As the steward of the early childhood development system, the Office will act on government's behalf, and work in collaboration with the sector, to organise and connect the system to reduce children’s developmental vulnerability in the years before school.
This includes leading reforms to quality preschool for all three and four-year-olds, supporting for families in the first 1000 days of a child’s life and implementing workforce reforms.
About the role
As the Director of Funding Operations and Monitoring, you will be a key member of the executive leadership team, reporting directly to the Chief Executive. Your role is pivotal, encompassing the design, delivery, and maintenance of the financial and operational aspects of South Australia's preschool program expansion. This includes overseeing funding eligibility, ensuring accountability in payment disbursement, monitoring market behaviour, and analysing data. It is a key role in supporting a diverse sector to deliver reforms to preschool in SA.
Your primary objective will be to design and deliver streamlined operations that direct funding, and shape sector support and financial monitoring functions for funded preschool programs. You will lead data-driven decision-making, and ensure that preschool programs are funded in alignment with the Government's objective of delivering quality preschool services. By optimising resource allocation, supporting funding effectiveness, and facilitating evidence-based improvements, you will contribute significantly to the early childhood education sector.
Your Contribution:
The successful candidate will lead the design and development of efficient Funding Operations supporting funding accountability, informed decision-making through data analysis, increased program impact, and the establishment of collaborative relationships with funding recipients and government bodies—all contributing to the advancement of high-quality early childhood outcomes for the state.
About you:
To be successful in this role, you will be a proven executive leader with demonstrable experience gained in roles related to financial performance, quantitative data analysis, contracting, data analysis and program management. This will complment your experience in strategic data collection, analysis, and interpretation to inform program performance. Key to your success will be your ability to ensure effective collaboration with the South Australian Government and other relevant agencies on data sharing and compliance.
To be eligible for this role, you should possess an appropriate tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline and significant relevant industry experience.
