Background:The
Safari Guide reports to the Safari Coordinator and the
Visitor Engagement Officer reports to the
Visitor Engagement Coordinator, forming part of the wider Visitor Experience portfolio.As a casual
Safari Guide (weekend, school and public holiday shifts required), you will deliver distinctive, professional safari tours and presentations aimed at connecting people with wildlife and providing relevant messages and actions to help fight extinction.As a casual
Visitor Engagement Officer, you will deliver creative animal talks and serendipitous
Visitor Engagement encounters or activations underpinned by ZVs Share our Care and Connect-Understand-Act community engagement models. You will be required to work autonomously and as a part of a team and assist to foster interdepartmental connections.
Key Selection Criteria:- You must have experience as a tour guide/presenter, and/or experience in conservation, education and interpretation, and the ability to use your skills to engage and connect our visitors.
- You must hold (or obtain at your own expense if successful) a current heavy/medium rigid licence and have a minimum of 3 years driving experience on a full Victorian Licence. This applies to the Safari Guide position only.
- You must hold a current Working with Children Check
- You must be available to work on a 7-day roster, all public and school holidays, evenings, events, and a minimum of 4 weekend days a month.

- Attend Driver Training - Mon 12th Aug to Fri 30th Aug 2024 (Paid - various dates TBC)
- Present a Medium or Heavy Rigid Licence (at own expense) by Friday 30th Aug 2024
